Who We Are

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the following data from the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string for spam detection purposes. An anonymized string generated from your email address (known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible to the public within the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, please ensure that you do not include images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) since visitors to the website can download and extract location data from such images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you have the option to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies are for your convenience, allowing you to avoid filling in your details again when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

When you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Upon logging in, we set several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies remain valid for two days, while screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out of your account will remove the login cookies.

When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and solely indicates the post ID of the edited article. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may feature embedded content such as videos, images, and articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same manner as if you visited the other website directly. These websites may collect data about you, utilize cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. This applies even if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data

For comments, both the comment and its associated metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them for moderation.

For registered users, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website administrators also have access to view and edit this information.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file containing the personal data we hold about you, including information you have provided to us. You can also request the erasure of any personal data we hold about you, with the exception of data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data is Sent

Visitor comments may be subjected to automated spam detection through a service.
